I-BEST creates an interdisciplinary learning experience that involves two faculty, with one focused on the basic skills, whereas the other one focuses on the subject matter. Such a model of instruction may be effectively expanded to serve students in various general education, liberal arts, or career technical education. 

PLTL is a collaborative learning strategy that encourages students to work together to solve problems and deepen their understanding of course material. Coupled with active learning, PLTL will strengthen the creation of learning cohorts, which are known to enhance student persistence and completion. When these two approaches are coupled, the support to individual students is greatly expanded, and inherent support frameworks by peers or faculty are greatly enhanced. 

SI provides additional support for students who may be struggling with specific subjects or assignments. To achieve the support, advanced peer learners are assigned to support their classmates, and to offer additional opportunities to explore the learning from various standpoints and in a non-intimidating environment.

Together, these methodologies help to create a strong sense of cohort among students, enhancing their learning and fostering a supportive community.
