In 2006, Julie Potiker thought she might have a brain tumour. Fearing the worst, she visited a neurologist, eventually finding that mindfulness training would be ideal for improving her health.
Once upon a time, mindfulness was dismissed more as "woo woo" and for hippies. However, scientific research has shown time and time again that there is truth to these methods, backing up things that previously had seen less legitimate.
For Julie, things got very difficult when her twins were 13 years old. She felt like life was just too difficult.
After taking her first round of mindfulness training, she eventually went on to study yoga, meditation, and prayer. She's now taken her transformational teaching out into the world and has written a book "Life Falls Apart, but You Don't Have To: Mindful Methods for Staying Calm In the Midst of Chaos."
In this episode, Julie shares the details of what led to her tipping point in life, why she wrote the book, and methods you can use to improve your own mindfulness, decreasing anxiety and depression, and increasing your wellbeing. Sponsor:
