Today I'm sharing my own journey with money. Money mindset is important, it creates your money reality. It's something you always have to work on, but you also face very real priorities in where your money needs to go, essentials like housing, food, and family needs.
I started my business myself with no money out of sheer desperation. I had two jobs and a side hustle. I was going through a very difficult divorce after 11 years in an abusive marriage. I'd lost my home, my former business and my ex was trying to take what little I had and the unjust Court system was enabling that.
I was mentally, emotionally, physically and financially exhausted.
Was it a good time to be starting my new business? Maybe not.
Did I have any other option? Maybe not.
But I started and quickly realised I needed to invest to learn the skills I needed to bring my ideas into pulsing life. But I just did not have the resources. Eventually, I put a 7K investment on a credit card for a programme that promised to help me build a business and accelerate my wealth. It didn't and I was 7K further in debt.
I realised that the thread of my entire life was that money was pain. I worked on my money mindset (and it's a never-ending task) and I recognised I needed to learn skills to sell my offers. I needed clear actionable steps for launching my offers that wouldn't be hampered by my mindset. A step by step process that I could follow and stop myself from getting in my own way. That system was launching.
Today I'm sharing my story so you can see how ingrained and subconscious our money story is and how it informs our actions, both the big ones and the small ones. At least they seem small and it's perhaps only years later we realise their significance!
I hope by sharing you'll delve into your own money story as it can lie behind both why you are unwilling to invest in your business if you have the resources available, and why you don't have them when you are ready to invest!
