Living Life Now - Introduction
These three words sum up a basic approach to life.
'LIVING' is a verb, entails action. 'LIFE' – what is one's understanding of, the meaning of, personal and other and all life? 'NOW' is every single present moment.
Every individual human being, being alive, is living life now – literally. But it is sadly true that many people do not live lives of much awareness; of their own true nature, of the sheer immensity of magnificence of the world, in its micro- and macro-aspects, not to speak of the Universe and its incomprehensible existence. And often people feel obliged to lead their lives according to other peoples' dictates, whatever the reasons for that.
The popularity of TV entertainment suggests that people enjoy watching other people living their lives; and even this is not fully true because many of those people are likewise portraying others, just playing out various roles. So, often it is 'third-hand' living.
It seems to be a struggle for many people to fully accept and be happy with who and what they are. When one is able to do this a tremendous feeling of freedom is experienced. Just being true to oneself allows one to 'live lightly' and stress levels are very low compared to others who are constantly acting out roles and behavior that are not in alignment and accord with their true nature. That is difficult and unsatisfying work, against the grain.
And who is doing this living? The Socratic quote 'Know Thyself' is a very valuable life-long dictum. Consistently working on oneself, improving, reducing and eliminating negative energies and introducing and increasing positive energies vitalises and invigorates our whole system and can radically increase our well-being.
Every one and every thing is changing constantly. Those who resist change are fighting a battle that is impossible to win. It is pointless and fruitless; actually it bears rotten fruits. Moreover, whatever one resists, persists. Change is a Universal Nature instinct and when we make friends with inevitable change and create positive change ourselves we are aligning powerfully with the natural flow of Life.
Change is always created from within; yes, external factors certainly can bear influence, but ultimately all change is brought about within ourselves, by ourselves. As Mahatma Gandhi is quoted as saying: “Be the change you want to see.” Invite change, embrace change, be and do change. Live life with extraordinary passion, excitement and a great sense of exploration and adventure. Why would we not want to? Every moment invites us to accept this potentially massive invitation to fully and whole-ly live our lives now. In every case it is a personal invitation to really be and live, now, according to who and what you are. Accept this generous gift of life and experience the bountiful fruits of love, joy and peace. Now.
