Reza Merchant is the brilliant Founder and CEO of The Collective, a thriving CoLiving company taking the world by storm. With current expansions across the UK, US and Germany, Reza grew The Collective from a single idea back in 2010.

During his last year at the London School of Economics, Reza became frustrated by the lack of high-quality and affordable accommodation for those on middle incomes in London, along with soaring levels social isolation and loneliness that so many of us are still subjected to.

Having a bottom up insight into the market and what the end user fundamentally needed, he quickly saw the opportunity to build and activate spaces in a way that had never been done before. Focusing on the needs of their customers, they set out to redefine the way people live in cities focusing on community, convenience, and value – The Collective brand was born.

This approach has led their business to be recognized as pioneers of the Co-living movement, with their flagship development at Old Oak (a 546 unit mixed use development) exemplifying their intention to create flourishing large scale communities.

Their expanding presence in the UK, Germany, and the US has paved the way to build a truly game changing, global platform, and it’s just the beginning.

With more than 6,500 units already under development for future growth and plans to develop 100,000 units globally, The Collective aspires to be the global Co-Living leader by delivering an unprecedented quality of life for their people - both members and staff. To accomplish this they have raised over $700M to date, and this figure will more than double in the next 12 months.
