**Possible Triggers: Native American and Indigenous murder and harm, race theft, abusive relationships, suicide, race, class, gender roles and religion**
As of 2016, the National Crime Information Center has reported 5,712 cases of missing American Indian and Alaska Native women and girls. Strikingly, the U.S Department of Justice missing persons database has only reported 116 cases. The majority of these murders are committed by non-Native people on Native-owned land. Join the movement and learn more by going to Native Hope or Missing and Murdered Indigenous. Learn and share all you can. You can also go to the Burke Museum website to learn more about the truth of the Quileute Tribe vs the portrayal from the book.
In this episode of Reading Held Hostage Justin has a LOT to say about this book. We are finally starting Twilight by Stephanie Meyers. While Blue loves Warrior Cats, Twilight is a different story. Well like, duh it's a different story, but like reading the book is way harder as an adult. Join us every Tuesday, and sometimes Thursdays, to hear Blue and Justin cringe and struggle through the book that made vampires, werewolves and gaslighting popular.
