Rhizomatic Radio # 2

Rhizomatic Radio takes its inspiration from a philosophical concept developed by two French philosophers: Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. While much of our society (our schools, our jobs, etc.) is modeled after the vertical structure of a tree, where there are distinct beginnings (the roots at the bottom) and desired endpoints (the branches at the top), the rhizome resists this linear and chronological structure. Instead, it grows horizontally and spreads like water. As a model for culture, the rhizome represents an open-source approach that values process and decentralized connections that move in surprising and unpredictable ways.
