Rhythm and Pitch: Grouping Your Sounds on the Piano and Playing Fixed Sounds

Listen Later

Hey, CMajor!--Do I have to tune my digital piano?  It's an interesting question.  Nowadays you have ways to alter the pitch of almost any instrument including electronic ones.  We'll talk about rhythms and pitch in this episode.  Listen as CMajor describes the difference between rhythm and tempo.  She'll explain how to play the piano using a fixed rhythm and a fixed sound.  You'll hear her talking about finding the exact sound you want.  "If a note is played on a keyboard and then another note is played anywhere to the right of it, the sound of the second note is said to be higher than that of the first."  Get ready to talk about letter names, middle C, octaves and so forth.  We'll talk about how to 'plant' these sounds on a staff as well.  See you soon!  Thank you for listening!

Note:  The CMajor Radio Show is broadcasting on a new day this week.  For this week, we'll move our episode to Thursday, September 13th.  See you then.  Thank you for listening!
