Rhythms That Restore - Learning rhythms that restore our minds, hearts, bodies and spirits and allow us to walk confidently in who God has called us to be.
In this heartfelt conversation, I'm joined by K.T Martin, a life and business breakthrough coach who helps go-getters with big hearts find their peaceful pace. K.T shares her journey from a difficult childhood to successful entrepreneur, and the profound "Great Awakening" that transformed her approach to life after losing four family members in just 13 months.
K.T reveals how she moved from a survival mindset to one of surrender and peace, offering practical spiritual rhythms that restore our souls when we feel overwhelmed by life's constant demands. Learn how to interrupt automated responses through intentional pauses, discover the power of Scripture-based breathing techniques, and understand why creating capacity in our overstimulated lives is essential for walking in God's calling.
This episode is perfect for women caught in the cycle of busyness who desire to shift from merely surviving to truly surrendering to God's better rhythms.
In This Episode, You'll Learn:"Death taught me how to live." - KT Martin
"So often we are operating in this mode to just get through, get by, survive day in, day out... and that becomes the rhythm." - KT Martin
"The pace and the pattern is no longer working." - KT Martin

Krystal Hunsucker is a vibrant woman of faith who brings energy and authenticity to everything she does. Here's a little more about her:
Krystal grew up in Abilene, Texas before finishing high school and college in Oklahoma (she's a proud Sooner!). She loves makeup, fashion, sparkles, and her signature "color" is literally color – she embraces brightness in all aspects of life!
Episode Highlights: Rhythms That RestoreIn this special one-year anniversary episode, Krystal shares how she's discovered rhythms that restore her mind, heart, body, and spirit through various seasons of life. Her story beautifully illustrates how finding peace and joy through obedience to God creates sustainable rhythms of rest and renewal.
Finding Her Purpose EarlyAt just 21-22 years old, Krystal read "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, which helped her identify her life's purpose: "to lead and inspire and encourage women." This purpose has guided her life's direction, and she's seen how God has consistently placed her in positions to fulfill this calling.
Daily Rhythms That RestoreKrystal maintains her spiritual growth and finds daily restoration through:
While Krystal grew up in church, she experienced a powerful "wrangling" moment during her junior year of college. She had drifted from her spiritual foundation and was in an unhealthy relationship when her boyfriend unexpectedly suggested attending a Shane & Shane concert. There, she had a profound Holy Spirit encounter that left her in tears throughout the concert. A week later, she ended the relationship, and "everything changed" in her life.
Lessons in Obedience and SurrenderKrystal shared powerful examples of how obedience to God has blessed her life:
Krystal and Brad have been married for almost 11 years and have two sons. She shared a beautiful perspective: "I am truly and honestly feel like I am living my dream," though she sometimes has to remind herself to fully embrace and enjoy this season of life that she worked so hard for.
Advice to Her Younger SelfAlthough she was blessed with great parents and natural confidence as a child, Krystal would remind her younger self to keep seeking God during seasons of doubt, remembering that "obedience creates peace, even when it's not easy."
Krystal's Challenge to Listeners"Daily seek Him. I don't know what that looks like for each person but figure out what moves you. On the days you don't feel moved or on the busy days when the day slips by and it's been one or two days since you've dug into the Word, get back to what you know to do. Whether it's worship music, prayer writing, listening to the Bible, reading the Bible, a podcast, or a sermon - there are so many options. Whatever fills your soul with Him, do it and then do it again until on the days you don't, you wake up the following day hungry and ready to return."

"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you. May you know that if God is for you, who can be against you? With God on your side, whom shall you fear? May you be like a tree that is planted by rivers of living water, that your leaf will not wither, and whatsoever you do, it shall prosper." - Krystal's blessing to listeners
Join Cherisse as she celebrates the one-year anniversary of Rhythms That Restore! In this heartfelt episode, she reflects on her unexpected path to podcasting, the false narratives she had to overcome, and how God has faithfully guided every step of this journey.
Cherisse shares the powerful lesson that has transformed her life: "He is enough, and therefore I am enough." Like Abraham, Moses, and other biblical figures who felt inadequate, she discovered that God doesn't need us to be enough—He simply needs our "yes." She reveals how this podcast began from a place of curiosity and developed through divine connections, including her mentorship with podcaster Wren Robbins and the invaluable support of her friend Liz Krol.
This anniversary episode, coinciding beautifully with Holy Week, explores how saying "Here I am, Lord" with open hands creates space for God to work in extraordinary ways. Cherisse shares how Psalm 91:1 has been her anchor throughout the year, reminding her to dwell in the shadow of the Almighty.
Whether you're wrestling with feelings of inadequacy, searching for purpose, or simply needing the reminder that God meets us in our weakness, this celebration of faithfulness will inspire you to take your next brave step forward.
