Claims that Kiwis are getting ripped off in retirement don't stack up.
That's according to Financial Services chief executive Richard Klipin.
A new OECD report suggests the New Zealand pension in the sixth worst in the world, with retirees getting just 43 per cent of the average working wage.
However, Klipin told Mike Hosking Kiwis, by and large, aren't solely reliant on the pension.
"It's NZ Super as a baseline, it is whatever you have got in KiwiSaver, it is whatever you have got in terms of your own savings that you have accrued over your lifetime."
