Richard Lowenberg has works over 40 years in the areas of integrated media arts, urban-rural community planning, energy and telecommunications infrastructure and economic modeling and info/ecosystems understandings. Richard founded the 1st-Mile Institute and its New Mexico ' Broadband for All ' Initiative, in Fall 2006, to provide advocacy, education and demonstration work on solving the rural networked society economic and digital divide problems. At Design Nine Inc. Richard contracted with the State of New Mexico to develop the 2008 " New Mexico Integrated Strategic Broadband Initiative " , and to steward statewide and State broadband stimulus applications, resulting in nearly $200 million awarded statewide in NM.
