Rick Brown

In Genesis 11, we learn about the Tower of Babel and humanity’s desire to make a name for themselves apart from God. United by one language, the people sought to build a city and a tower reaching to the heavens. But God saw their pride and rebellion, confused their language, and scattered them across the earth.

This chapter reminds us that human pride and self-reliance cannot replace obedience to God. When we seek our own glory instead of His, we miss the purpose for which He created us. Genesis 11 challenges us to examine our hearts, surrender our plans to the Lord, and remember that true greatness is found in glorifying God, not ourselves.

Genesis 10 records the descendants of Noah's three sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and shows how the nations of the earth spread out after the flood. The Table of Nations traces the origins of different peoples, lands, and nations, revealing how humanity multiplied and filled the earth according to God's plan.Through this genealogy, we see that every nation and people group shares a common beginning. Genesis 10 reminds us that God is sovereign over the history of nations and that His purposes extend beyond one family or people to the entire world.A sermon delivered as part of The Story of Everything series - #14 at Dayspring Church in Star, Idaho, on October 18th, 2026.DAYSPRING SERVICE INFORMATIONAddress: 2211 N Pollard Lane in Star, IdahoDay & Time: Sunday at 10:30 am.See you there!STAY UP TO DATEMake sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content!-For more information, please contact us at [email protected]: www.dayspringchurch.org-Dayspring Church Instagram: / dayspringchurchstar-Rick Brown Instagram: / rickbrown.usa-Dayspring Church Facebook: / dayspringchurchstarBIBLE READING PLANGet the Anchored in the Word Bible reading plan: https://www.dayspringchurch.org/mediaGIVEGiving is part of our worship time, and in this season, the easiest way to do that is online. The Story of Everything - Part 13 • Genesis 9 • Pastor Rick Brown, Dayspring Church - Star, Idaho

Genesis 9 marks a new beginning for Noah and his family after the flood. God establishes a covenant with Noah, promising never again to destroy the earth with a flood and giving the rainbow as a sign of His faithfulness. The chapter also emphasizes the value of human life, humanity’s responsibility to steward creation, and the consequences of sin through Noah’s family. Ultimately, Genesis 9 reminds us of God’s grace, His faithfulness to His promises, and the importance of honoring Him in the way we live.

The Story of Everything - Part 12 • Genesis 8:1-22 • Pastor Rick Brown, Dayspring Church - Star, Idaho

Genesis 8 tells of God remembering Noah and bringing the floodwaters to recede, allowing Noah, his family, and the animals to begin again. After leaving the ark, Noah builds an altar and worships God, responding with gratitude for His faithfulness and deliverance. God then establishes a covenant with creation, promising that the earth will continue through the seasons as He sustains it. Genesis 8 reminds us that even in seasons of waiting and uncertainty, God remains faithful and provides a new beginning.

Bob McEwen, former six-term Republican congressman from Ohio, warns that "the greater the government, the greater the poverty; the greater the freedom, the greater the wealth." A challenge to a generation that increasingly looks to government for answers, urging that the real answer is more freedom and our unalienable rights given to us by God, not more government.

The Story of Everything - Part 11 • Genesis 7:1-24 • Pastor Rick Brown, Dayspring Church - Star, IdahoGenesis 7 recounts the great flood, as God commands Noah, his family, and the animals to enter the ark and be saved from the coming judgment. Noah obeys God’s instructions, and the floodwaters cover the earth, destroying all living things outside the ark. Yet God preserves Noah and those with him, demonstrating both His righteous judgment and His mercy toward those who trust and obey Him. This chapter reminds us of the seriousness of sin, the faithfulness of God, and the importance of walking in obedience to His Word.A sermon delivered as part of The Story of Everything series - #11 at Dayspring Church in Star, Idaho, on September 13, 2026DAYSPRING SERVICE INFORMATIONAddress: 2211 N Pollard Lane in Star, IdahoDay & Time: Sunday at 10:30 am.See you there!STAY UP TO DATEMake sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content!-For more information, please contact us at [email protected]: www.dayspringchurch.org-Dayspring Church Instagram: @dayspringchurchstar -Rick Brown Instagram: @rickbrown.usa -Dayspring Church Facebook: dayspringchurchstar BIBLE READING PLANGet the Anchored in the Word Bible reading plan: https://www.dayspringchurch.org/mediaGIVEGiving is part of our worship time, and in this season, the easiest way to do that is online. The Story of Everything - Part 10 • Genesis 6:8-22 • Pastor Rick Brown, Dayspring Church - Star, Idaho

In a world filled with wickedness and corruption, Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord and chose to walk faithfully with God. God revealed His plan to judge the earth through the flood, but He also provided a way of salvation through the ark. Noah trusted God, obeyed His instructions, and faithfully prepared the ark according to everything God commanded. This passage reminds us of the importance of faith, obedience, and trusting God even when His instructions are difficult to understand.

The Story of Everything - Part 8 • Genesis 5:1-31 • Pastor Rick Brown, Dayspring Church - Star, Idaho

How does one impact their family for generations to come? Genesis 5 reminds us that our faithfulness to God can shape the generations that come after us. As this family line moves from Adam to Noah, we see the importance of continuing to walk with God and passing that faith on through our families. Our faithfulness today can become a foundation for our children, grandchildren, and future generations to know and follow the Lord.
