After making beautiful (hit-single) noise with the likes of The McCoys ("Hang On Sloopy") and Edgar Winter ("Frankenstein" and "Free Ride"), Derringer went on to gain success with his own band. Of course you've heard the song "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" (It reached the U.S. Top 30) and other rocking songs written and played by the gunslinger.
