Chicago Cubs centerfielder, Rick Monday, is said to have made the best play in baseball history.

It had nothing to do with hitting a grand slam or making an impossible catch.

Instead, Monday's play came from his quick decision to swoop in and save an American flag.

In honor of America's Independence Day, here's the story of the man who made the greatest play in baseball!
