This morning, Greg and Dan gave their friend Rick Otey a call for an update on his commemorative walk.

 

Rick gave us an update about his final day of his commemorative walk for his Proton Beam Therapy Treatment 19 years ago. To commemorate the treatment that saved his life he is walking 230 miles which is the distance to Bloomington, IN, which at the time was the only facility that had the new form of treatment. Today is his final day on his walk, and he is making the walk from Tremont to the new OSF building in Downtown Peoria to ring the bell that normally signals a patient's last day of treatments.
