Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.'

2. Paradoxical Truth: The message of the Beatitudes is countercultural – a reversal of worldly expectations.

3. The Promise: Each promise reflects God’s favor and eternal reward, even in the face of hardship.
