Riot Rewind: Oct. 13, 2017: Eagles Recap

Listen Later

The Panthers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football by a score of 28 to 23. The Eagles defense dominated the Panthers throughout the game frustrating Jonathan Stewart and the running game. At one point Jim Zoke of the Panthers broadcast teams remarked that Jonathan Stewart secured the record for most rushing yards this season but that could be taken away as Stewart had 8 rushing attempts for negative four yards during the entire game.

The Panthers also turned over the ball 3 times.

Panthers star linebacker Luke Kuechly left the game in the second quarter and is officially in the concussion protocol. This is his third concussion in 3 years. Kuechly missed 3 games following each of his previous concussions.

Before the half the Graham Gano could have attempted a 58-yard field goal but the Panthers remarked that the winds were not favorable to try such a long attempt.

Pro Football Focus gave Panthers Defensive Tackle Star Lotulilei a 36.5 performance rating.

Finally, Panthers and Charlotte Mecklenburg police are investigating an incident during Thursday’s game where a Panthers fan sucker-punched an older fan, bloodying his face. The person punched was a PSL owner who had been loudly complaining about the fan standing in front of him during the game. The graphic video has been shared on Instagram and national news and sports sites.
