Love is a word we often use flippantly. We say we love food, clothes, and cars. But when love is used in the Bible, it’s almost always being used about people.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God (1 John 4:7 NIV).

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13 NIV).

God is clear that we are to love one another. Memorial Day is a special time to remember those who loved us and sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
