We carry the imprint of God in our souls; we were created in His image, “So God created mankind in his own image….” (Genesis 1:27) Jesus is the perfect model of goodness, and as a church, we are designed to live out that goodness through good works. However, we can’t do this on our own; we have to have Jesus Christ as our Savior because no matter how hard we try, we will fail at some point. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
