This is Carter Conlon, reading to you today from the book of Isaiah chapter 60, verses 1 and 2: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.”
What an incredible opportunity you and I have as believers in Christ to bear witness to the light of the living Savior in such a day of increasing darkness. The word arise implies an awareness of the God-given gift to us of the life and light of Jesus Christ living within us. “In Him was life, and the life was the light of man,” says the apostle John. If you have Christ, you already have light. All that remains is for you to arise, lay hold of God and begin to shine.
It’s time to pray!
