- Nietzsche ‘God is dead’, he knew the consequence of believing in this. How shall we console ourselves?
- The nihilistic effect: with the death of God came the death of purpose, meaning, and hope.
- A common effect of a life without God.
- In Maps of Meaning the great lie is that meaning does not exist, or that it is not important. When meaning is denied, hatred for life and the wish for its destruction inevitably rules.
- Once purpose and meaning are erased from life, hopelessness, despair, and depression become the constant companions.
- Where does hope come from? Romans 15:13"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
- Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door[a] will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
- What do you have if you don’t believe in God of the Bible and live for Him?
- What do you have if you do believe in God of the Christian Bible, Jesus? Love, Hope, Forgiveness, Freedom, Peace that Passes Understanding, Joy, and Purpose.
- So, what have you done with God? Maybe give God a chance?
