RITA MORENO was born Rosita Dolores Alverío in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on December 11, 1931. She and her mother moved to New York City in 1937. Rita Moreno talks about poverty & her difficult upbringing and also about her performance in “West Side Story” on Broadway & in the film that gave her an Oscar! Rita will be seen again in the Steven Spielberg’s film remake of “West Side Story” soon to be released.
