HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY RITESH SHAH! In this VERY special episode, I'm introducing you to such a key important figure in my DJing career and a HUGE accelerant to the Lovesoul brand when Vik and I were DJing together. Ritesh Shah is based in London and the founder of Flashback, a night that started 20 years ago (9th June 2001). He also celebrates his 50th birthday on June 11th 2021, and we recorded this episode on June 10th, right in between these two key dates.
We talk about why he created this night around a love for people and music, the charity work and good that's come from these nights, and transforming into a duo by becoming The Flashback DJ's, as I did when we formed The Lovesoul DJ's. Ritesh is the epitome of keeping it real, being a good guy and playing the long game. We talk about the impact of the lockdown on his nights, how it's affected him, and how the transition to 50 has taught him some key lessons about the last decade. You'll also hear about those that have helped him including the role of his wife of 30 YEARS (she helped him select records at Uni) and what the wider Flashback community means to him.
It's a REALLY special episode for Vik and I. Send us your thoughts on DM.
