Today, Jess Ellett chats with Kristin Davis and Mike Wentworth, who work with Leashes of Valor, a Virginia nonprofit that provides highly-trained service dogs at no cost to wounded and disabled post-9/11 veterans. Their motto is ONE LEASH SAVES TWO LIVES. 

Leashes of Valor could not do what they do for our veterans without your help. They are always seeking foster homes for their service dogs for the duration of their training time as they get ready for their service. And donor contributions are also critical. And now through Dec. 31, the James K. Wright Fund will double all donations up to $100,000. You can help them cover the cost of 8 service dogs in 2025. 🐕‍🦺

Direct primary care is an increasingly popular option for covering the cost of medical care. It’s an agreement you make directly with your provider and it doesn’t use insurance claims. Typically, this type of membership covers the cost of routine screenings, management of chronic conditions, and acute-care visits. But, If you have a Direct Primary Care plan, you may also need a high-deductible health plan to cover the cost of emergency or hospital services.
