Lea, Keisha, CiCi, and Marlena sat down with Tiffany to talk about their experiences with homelessness. The ladies are current residents of Open Door Women’s Shelter. While the women may have some commonalities, their journeys have been very different. Could you imagine that relocating to a new city to be with family would lead you to become unhoused? How about having money and no options for housing? How about taking a leap of faith to change jobs? How about having to take your nine year old child to a shelter on Christmas Eve? In Episode 11, these ladies debunk myths and stereotypes about homelessness and how one finds themself in this situation. They also speak about how the bond that they have formed while in the women’s shelter keeps them positive, hopeful, and thankful.
