Happy Thanksgiving all! This time of year during grade school you’ve likely heard all about the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock and then later all about the next colony of Jamestown, VA. But did you know before these two Thanksgiving-themed colonies, that Roanoke came first? Set off what is the modern day Outer Banks of North Carolina, 115 colonists seemingly vanished. 400 years later no one, not even scholars, scientists, or archeologists have a plausible answer for where these men, women, and children may have gone.
