When Rob was 14, his father was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given two weeks to live. The hospital was ready to send Rob's father home to die, but that isn't what happened.

Rob, a boy must quickly become a man

While "the unexamined life is not worth living," is a stronger stance than I take, I do believe the examined life allows a person to get smarter about how to live it. 

So, that's what I do here—reflect on my life or something from life. My hope is that my public reflections prompt your own private reflections and that together we build a life with a little more breathing room, a little more intelligence, a little more forgiveness for ourselves and those we love.
