We can all take defeats when your team hasn't played well. We can also take draws when that is the result we deserve. However AFC Bournemouth deserved all three points against Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United side.
However the Premier League, terrible refereeing from Tony Harrington and VAR thought differently as they turned down a Cherries penalty appeal (which wasn't a penalty) against Harry Maguire, gave Manchester United a penalty after Adam Smith was adjudged to handle the ball (which he didn't and wasn't a penalty) and then overturned the right decision given by the referee via VAR in stoppage time!
There was also another penalty shout against Ryan Christie which again the official didn't give and which was judged to be simulation (it wasn't) which resulted in bookings for Christie and Lewis Cook who tried to explain the situation to our clueless official.
No wonder managers like Gary O'Neil are so wound up by poor officiating in the top flight. And Mark McAdam from Sky Sports News put it perfectly in his Tweet on X (or Twitter) afterwards.
Richard Masters (as well as resigning for his shambolic handling of the Everton and Nottingham Forest situations) needs to look at the refereeing in the top flight which isn't even worthy of the lower reaches of the English Pyramid.
Let us know your thoughts. Were we robbed? Or was it decent officiating (please explain if you think this as I don't think anyone can agree)? Is the Premier League Corrupt?
