The Speak Up Empowerment Foundation, Inc. 501.c.3 organization provides resource connections, growth-based training, and support for single parent families in Greater Long Beach, and surrounding areas. It promotes “empowered” parenting skills and abundant educational quality for families that are headed by a single parent.
The Ms. Single Mom Empowerment Forum is a pre-Mother’s Day community outreach event created specially to support the success of single moms in the Greater Long Beach area.
Speak Up Enterprises is a written and verbal communications company whose specialty professional services include the fine art of written and verbal communication.
The “Ms. Single Mom – Yes, You Can!” book is a comprehensive, easy to read, practical reference guide. It offers strategies to help the younger single parent save time, save money, and manage a situation that’s often overwhelming.
A divorced mother of three; teacher/trainer; former senior business systems analyst, corporate executive; and published author; Ms. Butler completed her B.A. at UC San Diego Revelle College; and attended MBA courses at Keller University and University of Phoenix.
With more than 25 years of experience on a variety of subjects ranging from parenting to personal enrichment, Ms Butler is a creative and charismatic soul who unselfishly shares knowledge gained from her own personal experiences.
An established freelance writer for more than fifteen years, Ms. Butler has written for a national lifestyle magazine and been invited to speak in various venues. She has been featured on televised public service announcements over two years as well as being a repeat guest on Sign of the Times television talk show.
She continues to be involved in community, civic and corporate affiliations, having served on the Los Angeles Urban League Board of Directors, Nissan Credit Union Board of Directors, Black Business Association Corporate Advisory Board, National Alliance of African American Athletes Planning Committee, UCSD Black Alumnae Scholarship Committee, and served as Chair of the Los Angeles Urban League Speaker’s Bureau.
Ms. Butler, a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., currently resides in Long Beach, CA.
