Tonight, we gather to honor Scotland’s greatest poet, Robert Burns — the man who gave us verses so stirring they require a dram (or three) to fully appreciate. In true Scottish fashion, we’ll feast on haggis (which sounds suspiciously like a dare to outsiders), toast to the lassies and lads, and pretend we know all the words to Auld Lang Syne. So raise your glass high, loosen your tartan, and may your poetry be as bold as your whisky and your dancing only moderately embarrassing.
