Robert Hemmingway was a B-17 pilot and flew 35 combat missions in Europe when he was 21 years old. He is married and has five children, 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but grew up in California. After the bombing at Pearl Harbor, instead of waiting to be drafted, he trained and passed the test to become a pilot. He shares with us his experiences as a pilot during World War II.
