"Robert Johnson was born in 1911 in the brutally oppressive Jim Crow south. Consumed by an obsessive passion to master the blues, Johnson grew deeply dejected. The story goes that one midnight, the young Johnson shouldered his beat up guitar and wandered down to a crossroads near dockery plantation in Mississippi. This crossroads held profound supernatural power. There, at midnight, in the inky darkness, Johnson is said to have been met by a figure whose footsteps made no sound, the devil himself."
