Meet my guest, Robyn O’Brien. Once called “Food’s Erin Brockovich” by the New York Times and Bloomberg, Robyn left her demanding and high powered corporate finance job to move to Colorado and raise her children. When her daughter Tory was diagnosed with a food allergy, her world turned upside down. Determined to put her analytical and data-loving background to good use, she started educating herself on the food system. What she found was shocking. Determined to educate other parents about the safety of the food they were feeding their children, she faced seemingly insurmountable scrutiny from the giant industries who were threatened by her determination, passion, and mission. During this time, she felt terribly alone. However she never lost her faith, and trusting her heart and her intuition led her to beautiful opportunities and friendships that she cherishes to this day.

In this episode, Robyn and I talk about what it takes to be a woman in today’s society and how trusting our intuition is the key to our power. We have both learned that walking the spiritual path is a continuous journey of constriction and expansion, and that age and wisdom has taught us that there is always light on the other side of the darkness. Robyn explains how changing the word “failure” to “experience” has made all the difference to how she approaches life, both in her career and in her relationships. All of the years she has spent fighting for transparency and equality in the food industry have led her to her current position as Co-founder and Director of Partnerships at rePlant Capital, which helps farmers transition from conventional farming to regenerative and organic farming while improving profitability.
