Welcome back to the Rock 'n Roll Ghost Podcast. On this week's episode, the Ghost speaks with famed New Orleans singer John Boutté.
John has been a singer since he was a child singing in his church choir, but he went to college to study business and then joined the Army.
In the interview, John discusses his career, where he and his family were when Hurricane Katrina hit and the levees failed in 2005, the incompetence/cruelty/antipathy of the government towards people of color and the city of New Orleans itself and a whole lot more.
In sad news, John discusses his sister's, gospel singer Lillian Boutté, battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. We wish her and her family as much good faith and prayers as we can pump out into this world.
John is currently gearing back up to begin performing live again. If you're in the New Orleans area, do make a point of seeing him sing live.
