Matthew 14:22-33 teaches us about the nature of faith and the common factors that cause us to waver: fear, loss of focus, doubt, and trials. Despite these challenges, we are reminded that Jesus' presence, His confrontation of our fears, His ultimate control, and the authority of His word provide us with the assurance we need to stand firm. Even when we falter, we must call out for help, reach for Jesus, and not get discouraged. Ultimately, our moments of wavering should lead us back to worship, as worship has the power to calm the storms within us.
