The once for 'Only Colored Beach' was a result of Black People not allowed to patronize any beach in South Florida those beaches were for 'White People Only' August 1, 1945 there was a Protest that led to the creation of Virginia Key Beach. The 80th Anniversary will celebrate the rich history of Virginia Key Beach (VKB) with free admission, tours, and an update on the creation of a Museum.
