A unique feature of the PPP procurement process in the Canadian provinces such as British Columbia and Alberta, among others, is that of the Fairness Auditor. A Fairness Auditor is retained by the procuring authority early during the process as an independent auditor to observe the process of procurement and its compliance with the required rules and processes.

The detailed scrutiny of the process by the Fairness Auditor creates a sense of confidence among the bidders as well as the general tax paying public. This webinar seeks to take a detailed look at the role of the fairness auditor in ensuring a fair and transparent procurement process with focus on the processes followed in Alberta, from the procuring authority’s and the fairness auditor’s perspectives.
