Volkswagen and BMW were bidding for Rolls-Royce and Bentley. VW had just "won" bought Rolls-Royce and Bentley from Vickers for $780m....oops!... all but the Flying Lady and Rolls-Royce Grille trademarks! BMW came in behind and bought those trademarks from R-R Aero (Jet engines) for $66m.
