  1. What are the essential elements of the gospel highlighted in Romans 1:16-17?
  2. Romans 1:18 says “the wrath of God is revealed.” Look through the remainder of the chapter. What is God’s wrath revealed? What are the key elements of sin highlighted in chapter 1?
  3. How and when is the wrath of Romans 1:18 revealed? Is it speaking about final judgement or something else?
  4. Romans 2 opens declaring that sinners have “no excuse” for their sin. In light of Romans 2:4, what ought we to do rather than continue in sin?
  5. Romans 3 makes the clear case that there are none in all of humanity who are righteous, not even those who have the “oracles of God.” Read Psalm 14 together (see also Psalm 53), from which Paul quotes in Romans 3:11-18. Discuss anything that stands out to you.
  6. Read Romans 3:26. What does this verse mean? Consider memorizing this verse together as a Community Group.
  7. Romans 4 makes such a clear argument for the necessity of faith for justification. Try to summarize his argument together as a group.
  8. Glance ahead to Romans 5:10-11. What is the application point of faith? How might this look in the life a justified people?
