* An enemy is anyone who’s overstepped your boundary.

* This means even people we love can become our enemy.

* So what do we do with an enemy?

* This verse tells us - we win them through love!

* How?

* By seeking to meet their needs.

* This will show God’s love for them through us.

* This verse talks about putting hot coals on peoples’ heads.

* Back in Bible days the poor would walk the streets with bowls on their heads which was their way of asking for hot coals for them to either heat their house or their stove.

* They’d walk by the window and you could put your leftover coals in their bowl.

* That would help them stay warm or prepare a meal.

* This is how you win your enemy - you see their need and meet it.
