Romans 15 Discussion

Romans 15 doesn’t let “spiritual strength” stay theoretical. It turns strength into responsibility: if we’re strong in faith, we’re obligated to carry the weak, build them up, and stop living like church is a place to get our preferences met. We’re Pastor Plek and Pastor Holland, and we walk Romans 15 with a practical Bible study approach: outline, observe, interpret, then apply so you can take Jesus into your workday, your workout, your commute, and your relationships.

We dig into Paul’s core command to please others for their edification, and why that challenges the modern instinct to isolate or dismiss the church. We also camp out on Romans 15:4 and the way Scripture produces endurance and hope, including why Christians can’t “unhitch” from the Old Testament. Then we follow Paul as he shows how Christ fulfills God’s promises to Israel while extending mercy to the Gentiles, and why Paul sees gospel ministry as a priestly offering to God.

From there, we get painfully practical: what do you say to someone who claims they don’t need the church to be a Christian, and what does it reveal when we refuse to worship with others? We talk about singing as a commanded part of Christian worship, how it strengthens faith in suffering and joy, and why it matters more than our comfort. We close with clear application from Romans 15: praying for other believers, bearing with difficult people, and sharing Christ with those who have never heard.
