As Paul continues his letter to the church in Rome, he reminds us that true transformation begins within. A changed heart does not seek praise from people—but from God alone.

Yes, there are believers who are unfaithful—but does human unfaithfulness make God unfaithful? Of course not. Even if everyone else is a liar, God remains true.

Paul makes it clear: we are all sinners. Jews and Gentiles alike live under the power of sin, just as the Scriptures reveal. The law was given to show that the entire world stands guilty before God. Yet, in His mercy, God has revealed a way to be made right with Him—apart from the law.

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who they are.

Paul explains that, in His undeserved kindness, God took our punishment and declared us righteous through Jesus Christ, freeing us from the penalty of sin. There is only one God, and He makes people right with Himself by faith—whether they are Jews or Gentiles.

Using Abraham as an example, Paul addresses the question of circumcision, showing that Abraham was counted righteous because of his faith, long before he was circumcised. God’s promise was not based on obedience to the law, but on faith. Even when Abraham had no reason to hope, his faith did not weaken—it grew stronger.

Faith brings joy.

And because we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we now have peace with God through what Jesus has done for us.

God’s law reveals our sin—but as sin increased, God’s grace increased even more. Where sin once ruled and led to death, now grace reigns—bringing right standing with God and leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

"I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them."
