Romans 3:1-20 describes the guilt of all humanity before God. The passage begins by acknowledging the advantages that the Jews have as God's chosen people, but then points out that their unfaithfulness does not negate God's faithfulness. The passage goes on to say that all people, both Jews and Gentiles, are under sin and guilty before God. It argues that no one is righteous or seeks God, and that all have turned away from Him and become corrupt. The passage then cites several Old Testament scriptures to support this view, concluding that the law can only expose sin, but not save from it. The passage emphasizes that all people, regardless of their background, are in need of God's grace and redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
