Today’s passage includes wonderful guarantees for those who have genuine faith in Christ Jesus:

Proclaimed as righteous

  • Romans 5:1
    • “declared righteous by faith”
    • Peace with God

      • Romans 5:1
        • “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”
        • eirēnē (Greek: εἰρήνη) – a state of rest, denoting the absence or end of strife. It refers to a state of untroubled, I disturbed well-being. Peace; a state of natural tranquility.
        • Place of Grace

          • Romans 5:2
            • “We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand”
            • Hope of Glory

              • Romans 5:2
                • “…and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.”
                • Romans 5:5
                  • “This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
                  • Reality of Pain

                    • Romans 5:3-4
                      • “we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.”
                      • thlipsis (Greek: θλῖψις) – a pressing, pressing together, pressure; oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress
                      • Take note: we rejoice in both!
                      • Showered with Divine Love!

                        • Romans 5:6-8
                          • “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
                          • Assured of our Escape

                            • Romans 5:9-10
                              • “How much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath”
                              • Joy in God

                                • Romans 5:11
                                  • “we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.”
