An Overview of Romans Chapters 9–11 After eight chapters detailing the universal problem of sin and the glorious, individual salvation found by faith in Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul makes a significant shift in his discourse. Romans chapters 9, 10, and 11 form a distinct section addressing the national destiny of Israel in light of God's work in the Church. A failure to recognize this change in subject, from the individual to the nation, has led to much confusion and false doctrine. These three chapters answer the critical question: Has God's Word to Israel failed? The central theme is God's unwavering faithfulness to His promises.
