Romans E (18 minutes) continues the study of the typical weaknesses of religious people, particularly hypocrisy and condescension.

Isaiah 52:5 -- God's people often misrepresent him through unholy living. And yet sometimes those who are not the people of God in fact are following the spirit of God's Word -- we mustn't be smug in our salvation, or look down on the outsider.

Principal O.T. passages on "uncircumcision": Deuteronomy 10:16, 30; Jeremiah 4:4, 9:2.

Are we tempted to look down on those who have not been baptized correctly? Do you know anyone who is:

  • Godly, though without a complete understanding of biblical truth?
  • Christlike, though with some technical misunderstandings?
  • Showing signs of Holy Spirit, even if confused about how one is meant to receive the Spirit.
  • For more on this, please watch the Friend or Foe? DVD (and listen to the lessons in the Who Is My Brother? conference). The DVD (2 hours) and the audio CD (7 hours) are available here, at the IPI site.

Suggested for memory: "You then who teach others, do you not teach yourself?..." (Romans 2:21).
