What’s the greatest legacy you will leave for your children?
I love the way this poet defined legacy. “There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots. The other, wings.”
Man, that nails it, doesn’t it? As parents, we work hard to give our kids deep convictions and disciplines. Roots. And we pray that our efforts will prepare them for life.
Why? When our teens develop into young adults, we long to see them spread their wings and leave the nest. To fly!
You wanna leave a great legacy for your family? Give your kids roots. And give ‘em wings. Yes, some days the work seems overwhelming as you drive down those roots. But someday, your teens will learn to soar.
