Rosalind Franklin was an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer whose work was central to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite.

She was also a fiercely intelligent, kick arse feminist with a wicked sense of humour, who was not about to soften herself to be more palatable for anyone and for that, we looooove her.

However, as a woman in science during the 1950’d she experienced significant sexism and her contributions to the discovery of the structure of DNA were not recognised during her lifetime.
