So, I'm tired, low energy, still getting over a cold, but that wasn't going to stop me from reviewing The Mandalorian Chapter 1. If you don't like listening to sleepy gross ASMR rants, I'll just go ahead and give you the brief recap here... It's pretty great.

The Mandalorian feels like Star Wars. Despite all the hate for Disney's handling of the franchise, this show seems to be a good faith effort in the right direction. The humor is good and subtle, the practical effects are gritty and beautiful, the CGI can feel at times a tad rough (but even that may be a stylistic choice), and most importantly, the story thus far is really intriguing. I won't spoil anything in this text review (I WILL in the audio. You've been warned!), but there is plenty of well handled easter eggs and fan service in this as well. Nothing like "Oh, you're a loner. We'll call you Solo" *facepalm*, just subtle great nods to the greatness of the source material. 

The whole thing wraps up with the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers that NOBODY saw coming and definitely left me wanting more.
