Round 2 is done - and our reviews are in! The herd is really starting to separate now with a couple of games in the bag, so in this episode, we've got 10 juicy minutes on each of the match ups covering who is firing, who needs to and the strategic differences between the best and the rest.
In this episode, we cover:
🕑 3:40 - Dally M point system. How can a fullback from a losing team get a point over an all but perfect game from the winning team's halfback? What needs to be done to ensure the consistency of the system dictating the game's greatest honours?
🕑 16:45 - Eels v Storm. The Eels surprised the rugby league world by outclassing the Storm across the park.
🕑 27:25 - Warriors v Knights. A very close match up from two Top 8 contenders. The Knights showed just a bit more polish while the Warriors let this one slip right through their fingers.
🕑 33:10 - Titans v Broncos. Little brother may just have begun a new era of dominance over big brother. The Broncos have improved their attitudes but still need to change their roster to compete.
🕑 50:30 - Bulldogs v Panthers. The wettest game of the round in what was a very wet round. The Panthers broke a 100 year old record to hold two oppositions scoreless to start the season.
🕑 1:05:00 - Sea Eagles v Rabbitohs. A closer match up than many might have expected, but the Rabbitohs bounced back for a clinical win.
🕑 1:11:45 - Cowboys v Dragons. The Cowboys were able to open their account with a couple of tries after going scoreless in Round 1, but were unable to contain Ben Hunt and a rising Dragons side.
🕑 1:17:30 - Tigers v Roosters. Some really poor edge defence from the Tigers couldn't stop an extremely polished Roosters side, with B. Morris and Tedesco already boasting more tries than most other entire NRL teams.
🕑 1:32:10 - Sharks v Raiders. The Raiders capitulated in the second half and the Sharks nearly seized the game from them, with only a bit of luck (and one poor bastards wonky boot) saving the day.
